How do I place an order? Contact Chef Peter Hoban by email or by phone to schedule an initial consultation. Chef Hoban will provide a comprehensive list of menu items. Upon your approval of the menu selections, pricing will be determined and a cooking date will be set. Payment is made in advance of the food preparation date, to ensure that the freshest ingredients are purchased and on hand that day.

Can I request items that do not appear on the sample menu page? Yes. Chef Hoban will provide an extensive menu list during the initial consultation, but specially requested items can be accommodated if they are available in season.

How does billing work? Pricing includes both a fixed charge for food prepration and a separate food cost charge. Since payment in full is required prior to the cooking date, an estimated food cost will be included in the client's billing during the client consultation. At the scheduled cooking date, a statement of the actual food costs for the current order will be provided to the client. Any required adjustments to the estimated food cost will be applied to the next food service order. Presently, only personal checks and cash payments are accepted.

I live outside of metro Boston, can I still arrange for Chef Hoban's services? Yes, Chef Hoban can travel to your location if it is within eastern Massachusetts, southeastern New Hamphire or Rhode Island (weather permitting). Please contact Chef Hoban at least two weeks prior to your required cooking date for an initial consultation.

Can I order for larger parties? Yes. Advance notice of at least two weeks is required for larger orders. Food items will be prepared and packaged for immediate reheating (less than 24 hours of refrigeration is recommended).

Can I substitute items once I have placed my order? Modifications of the agreed-to menu are not generally permitted, unless specific menu items are found to be unavailable at the time of food preparation. In this event, substitutions will be negotiated with the client prior to the cooking date.

What if I need to cancel? A cooking date may be rescheduled to an alternate date once payment has been made, provided that a new date is requested at least a week in advance of the cooking date. Cancellations will not result in a refunded payment.

What if my kitchen appliances are not in working order? The Chef will confirm that all required equipment is in working condition at the time of the initial client interview. At a minimum, Chef Hoban requires the use of a working stove, a working oven, a working refrigerator and a working freezer (if frozen items are specified ).

How will my order be packaged? Generally, microwave-safe disposable containers are provided to the client during the cooking appointment at an approximate cost of $25. Alternatively, the client may request reusable oven-safe glass containers at an additional cost. All containers will be labeled with appropriate storage and reheating instructions.
